Overview
When in Graz, don't miss the Landeszeughaus or the Styrian Armoury. Known to be the world's largest historic armoury, this attraction is one of the most popular sites in Graz. The purpose of the armoury was to have weapons ready to defend the province from neighboring territories. The impressive collections of weapons and historic armour have been beautifully preserved and are now on display. The armoury is spread across four flours, with an unbelievable collection of 32,000 exhibits dating from the late 15th to the early 18th century. Visitors to the armoury will come across all kinds of equipment, ranging from suits of armour and helmets to pistols and swords, and will be able to get fascinating background information on the exhibits from a free audio guide. They will therefore be able to learn more about the history of Styria and explore the attraction at their own pace.
Prayer Facilities
Finding prayer facilities at the Styrian Armoury will not be possible. Muslim visitors will therefore have to make use of the services offered at one of the several mosques or Islamic Centres in the city of Graz, such as Al Nur Mosque, the Islamic Center of Graz, Mevlana Camii Moschee and Islamischer Glaubensverein Taqwa.
Halal Food
The Styrian Armoury is not known to house a café. Visitors to the attraction will however be able to find plenty of cafés and restaurants throughout the city of Graz. Muslim tourists will also be able to locate a number of Halal restaurants, many of which will serve Turkish cuisine. While at the armoury, they can therefore ask to be directed to the nearest Halal restaurant.
