Overview

Located on the western edge of the city centre is the magnificent Baroque Eggenberg Palace or Schloss Eggenberg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Designed by Imperial Governor Hans Ulrich von Eggenberg, this extensive complex consists of a palace and scenic gardens. The stunning state rooms found here feature over 500 ceiling paintings and a variety of historical furniture. Visitors can join a guided tour to explore and learn about these state rooms and to find out some of the complex's intriguing secrets. A stroll through the beautifully landscaped, romantic gardens of Eggenberg Palace is also a must. It is also not uncommon for visitors to see peacocks roaming the extensive grounds at Eggenberg Palace.

Prayer Facilities

Due to the sizeable Muslim community in the city of Graz, there are quite a few mosques and Islamic Centres. Some of the prominent mosques in the city include Al Nur Mosque, the Islamic Center of Graz, Mevlana Camii Moschee and Islamischer Glaubensverein Taqwa. Muslims visiting the Eggenberg Palace can therefore ask to be directed to the nearest prayer facility when needed, as the attraction does not have a prayer room.

Halal Food

Eggenberg Palace is not known to house a café, but visitors can take along a picnic and enjoy it in the garden. There are however plenty of restaurants in the surrounding area. Muslim tourists will be able to find a number of Halal restaurants in the city, most of which are Turkish.
