Overview
A trip to the town of Nafplio is not complete without a leisurely stroll around Arvanitia promenade. A great place to unwind after visiting the numerous attractions in the area, Arvanitia promenade is one of Nafplio's most famous walks. The promenade stretches about 1 kilometre and goes from the waterfront, then winds around the base of Acronafplia Castle, and then to Arvanitia Square; following the coastline throughout. Apart from the fantastic views of the Gulf of Argolis, tourists will also get to see the castle's bastions and cannons, the mountains of Arcadia, Bourtzi Fortress, a small church called Panaghia tis Spilias, and a number of other popular attractions. Throughout the trail there are also steps that lead down to the sea. The best times to explore the promenade would be at sunset or sunrise.
Prayer Facilities
While there were a number of mosques in Nafplio during Turkish rule, today none of these are active. Muslims exploring Arvanitia promenade may be able to locate a clean and quiet area along the trail, to offer their prayers outdoors. If unable to, they will have to return to their hotel rooms at prayer times.
Halal Food
The town of Nafplio is not known to house any Halal restaurants or cafés. Muslims visiting the town will therefore have to dine on seafood and vegetarian dishes at local non-Halal restaurants. They will however have to make sure the dishes they order do not consist of any non-Halal ingredients.
