Overview

Manila's iconic Rizal Park, overlooking the picturesque Manila Bay is a must-visit park when in the city. Spread across an area of over 60 hectares, this historically significant park has much to offer its numerous visitors. One of the largest parks in Southeast Asia, Rizal Park is the green lung of the city, widely used by its residents for recreational activities and entertainment. Tourists will find the lush green park a lovely place to relax and enjoy the numerous activities available at the park. Featuring a plethora of ornamental gardens, museums, a skating rink, a chess plaza, an aquarium, a planetarium and a playground, the popular park has something fun for all age groups and is a wonderful place for the entire family. A notable feature at the park is the Philippines archipelago, recreated in miniature form, in the pond located east of the park. Those visiting early in the morning will find various groups gathered to practice a variety of martial arts.

Prayer Facilities

Although Muslim visitors will not find prayer facilities within Rizal Park, they will be able to locate a number of mosques in Manila. Masjid al Dahab also known as the Golden Mosque is not only the most prominent but is also the largest mosque in Metro Manila. This mosque is located in a predominantly Muslim area in the city and is frequented by the locals as well as tourists. Muslim tourists could also find a secluded area within the park to offer their prayers.

Halal Food

While Rizal Park is known to house restaurants and food kiosks, Muslim tourists may not find these outlets to be Halal certified. Muslims visiting the park will however not find it difficult to locate Halal restaurants in the city as there are numerous Halal restaurants in Manila serving a wide range of cuisines such as Indian, Indonesian, Middle Eastern, Western and more.
