Overview
Located on the banks of the River Clyde, Glasgow's award-winning Riverside Museum is packed with fascinating and interactive exhibits. The museum highlights Glasgow's rich past and houses over 3,000 objects. Designed by much-acclaimed architect Zaha Hadid, the building that the museum is housed in is by itself famous and has been dubbed 'Glasgow's Guggenheim'. The Riverside Museum is separated into themed displays, such as Transport & Leisure, Looks & Fashion, Made in Scotland, The River Clyde, Streets, Disasters & Crashes, Getting There, Cutting Edge- Past, Present & Future and Crossing the World. Inside the museums, visitors will find a variety of exhibits from Glasgow's former Transport Museum, featuring vintage cars, locomotives, model ships, as well as many new additions. A reconstruction of a 1938 Glasgow street is one of the museum's new additions and the Tall Ship; the Glenlee is also a new addition and one of the highlights of the Riverside Museum.
