Overview
Looming over New York City's East River is the majestic Brooklyn Bridge. Hard to miss when in New York City, the bridge links the two boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn and is one of the oldest bridges in the United States and was once the world's largest suspension bridge. The Brooklyn Bridge took 14 years to be constructed and is now an iconic feature of the New York City skyline, offering a panoramic view of the city. It is also one of the few bridges in the world that has a path for pedestrians. The elevated pedestrian path allows visitors to cross the river without being bothered by traffic, and it also offers magnificent views of the area and Manhattan's skyline. The breathtaking view in fact attracts millions of tourists every year.
Prayer Facilities
Muslims visiting the Brooklyn Bridge will not be able to find prayer facilities. They can however visit one of the mosques or Islamic Centers in the borough of Brooklyn. Masjid At-Taqwa, Fatih Camii Mosque, Masjid Al Arqam and the Brooklyn Islamic Center are just a few of the many mosques in the borough.
Halal Food
There are countless restaurants in the area surrounding the Brooklyn Bridge. Due to the sizeable population of Muslims living in New York City, finding Halal restaurants, cafés and food carts will not be a problem. Muslim tourists can therefore ask to be directed to the best Halal restaurant near the bridge when needed.
