Overview

The Palma Aquarium is one of the most exciting places you can take your kids when in the city. Palma Aquarium is visited by thousands of tourists each year, making it one of the most popular attractions in the area. Spreading across an area of 500 metres, the aquarium is home to 55 tanks and over 700 different species of marine life from all over the world. The highlight of the aquarium is the 'Big Blue,' the deepest shark tank in Europe. The tank is said to hold 3.5 million litres of salt water and is 33 metres long. Visitors will not only get the chance to see a variety of exciting marine life, but they will also come across Sandbar Sharks, Blacktip Reef Sharks, Sand Tiger Sharks, and Smooth Hounds, here. Those with diver's licenses can take it one step further and dive in this huge tank. For the less adventurous, there are interactive aquariums where visitors get the chance to feed a variety of aquatic life and touch starfish and more. The Palma Aquarium also focuses on corals and its importance and protection. What makes the Palma Aquarium even more special for kids, is the large play area and the 'Jungle', which is Spain's largest roof garden that has been recreated into tropical rainforest.

Prayer Facilities

The Palma Aquarium is not known to house any prayer facilities for Muslim visitors. Muslims visiting the aquarium might however be able to find a quiet, clean place in the gardens to offer their prayers. There are also a few mosques in Palma, such as the Mezquita Abderrahman de Palma de Mallorca and Mezquita Ihsan.

Halal Food

The Palma Aquarium offers its visitors a couple of dining options. Adult visitors will be able to get tailor made 3 course meals at restaurant Mediterra, while those with kids can dine at the Café & Restaurant Neptuno for a more child-friendly meal. Both restaurants are known to serve special gluten free and vegetarian dishes, the latter of which is ideal for Muslim visitors.
