Overview

Nehru Zoological Park, also known as the Hyderabad Zoo, is a 380 acre zoo that is said to be one of the largest in India. The zoo is a definite must-visit, as the wildlife found here live in large open air enclosures, in conditions similar to their own habitats and there are no barriers separating the animals and the visitors. Home to over 140 species of animals like tiger, bear, elephants, and giraffe, the Nehru Zoological Park also offers a safari tour for those interested in seeing exotic animals like Asiatic lions, in person. Because the zoo is so big, there are bicycles and battery operated vehicles for hire, to ensure that visitors get to see all the enclosures and attractions.

Prayer Facilities

Muslim tourists visiting the Nehru Zoological Park may not be able to find prayer facilities within the zoo's premises; they could however find a quiet area in the zoo that they could use to pray, when needed. They could also ask to be directed to a mosque nearby, since the city of Hyderabad is home to quite a few masjids.

Halal Food

The Nehru Zoological Park is home to a food court, a dairy parlor, and a couple of canteens. Visitors to the zoo will therefore be able to find snacks, baked goods, tea and coffee, cool drinks, as well as a variety of dishes, at the food court. They could inquire if the dishes served here are Halal, or they could stick to the vegetarian and seafood options available.
