Overview

The Musée Saint-Raymond or the Saint-Raymond Museum is a Roman antiquities museum which is a must-visit for tourists looking to learn more about Toulouse's Roman origins. The museum is also a must for Roman history and Roman art connoisseurs. It offers visitors fascinating displays on the city's Roman past, as well Greek history, temporary exhibits and tombs; which are located in the basement. There are also numerous sculptures of famous Greeks and Greek mythology. The archaeological museum is also said to be home to France's second largest collection of Roman emperors' busts, after the Louvre. The beautiful building that the museum is housed in is also worth a mention, as it dates back to the 16th century and was once a college. Outside the museum visitors find a beautiful, quiet garden where they will be able to relax and sip on some coffee from a stall located nearby.

Prayer Facilities

While the museum may not have prayer facilities for Muslim visitors, they may be able to offer their prayers in the quiet garden. There are also quite a few mosques in Toulouse at which Muslim tourists can offer their prayers. The staff at Musée Saint-Raymond should be able to direct visitors to the nearest mosque, if needed.

Halal Food

The city of Toulouse is home to a couple of Halal restaurants at which Muslim visitors can dine. Muslim tourists can also dine at one of the numerous local restaurants. These restaurants, while not Halal, do serve vegetarian and seafood dishes. Before dining on any of these dishes, Muslims are advised to make sure they do not consist of any non-Halal items.
