Overview

Also known as the Sydney Aquarium, the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium is located towards the east of Darling Harbour in Sydney and is a prominent attraction in the city. Opened to the public in 1988, the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium is home to over 700 species of fish and sea animals - including penguins, turtles, sharks, platypuses and two of the only six dugongs on display in the world. The aquarium features 14 themed zones including Discovery Rockpool - an educational interactive zone, Bays of Rays - the most colourful combination of Australian rays, as well as the largest Great Barrier Reef display in the world. Other highlights include the Platypus habitat, Murray-Darling river system, Saltwater crocodile, Barramundi, Mermaid Lagoon and the Little penguins habitat. Visitors are also offered glass bottom boat tours and shark reef snorkelling, ensuring plenty to do for everyone. A visit to the aquarium is recommended - particularly for nature enthusiasts and families with children.

Prayer Facilities

Though designated prayer facilities at Sea Life Sydney Aquarium will be unavailable for Muslim travellers, private space will be available in the area to use during prayer times. Muslim travellers can also visit some of the several mosques in Sydney such as the Sydney Musalla, Sydney City Musalla, Al-Azhar Mosque, Bankstown Musalla and Mayfield Mosque.
