Overview
Though Wat Kao Hua Jook is not considered to be a highly popular tourist attraction, a visit to this old temple is recommended for a unique cultural experience as well as for some fantastic views of the coastline. It can be reached via a 90 metre walk up a hill and offers a peacefully relaxing atmosphere with plenty of seated areas. It is an excellent spot to observe the airplanes flying in and out of the Samui International Airport. The views during sunset are particularly spectacular, when the sky explodes into a palette of colours. A small coffee shop is also available for visitors and is considered to serve some of the best coffee in Koh Samui.
Prayer Facilities
Muslim travellers who require prayer facilities near Wat Kao Hua Jook may visit Masjid Nurulihsan, which is the closest mosque to Chaweng Beach. It is also the only mosque in Koh Samui and is located a few kilometres away. Plenty of private open space is also available around Wat Kao Hua Jook and can be made use of by Muslim travellers during prayer times.
Halal Food
A coffee shop is available for visitors but access to Halal food at Wat Kao Hua Jook may be limited. Muslim travellers could visit a few of the really good Halal restaurants near Chewang Beach such as the Faria Halal Food Restaurant, Muslim Restaurant and Bang Hasan Samin Restaurant which all serve a fantastic variety of Halal food.
