Overview

Having been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981, the Ayutthaya Historical Park is one of the most popular attractions in Ayutthaya. It is located around 75 kilometres towards the north of the country's capital and will delight visitors with a number of attractions ranging from temples to museums to an elephant park. The Ayutthaya Historical Park is the best place to witness the ruins of the old city of Ayutthaya and some of the highlights of the park are: Wat Yai Chaya Mongkol - uniquely shaped stupas, Viharn Phra Mongkol Bophit - a structure similar to the Grand Palace in Bangkok, Wat Ratchaburana - a historic monument and the Wat Phra if Sanphet - stupas consisting the ashes of many Kings of Siam.
