London Eye

Overview

Officially named, Coca-Cola London Eye since mid January 2015, this modern yet popular tourist attraction is a major feature of the London skyline and is a definite must-visit attraction when in the city. Offering visitors some of the city's best views, the giant observation wheel with 32 glass capsules, is centrally located in the heart of the city overlooking the River Thames. Built to celebrate London's millennium celebration, this 135 meter structure gives visitors the experience of enjoying breathtaking 360 degree views of the capital and of more than 55 of London's famous landmarks. A complete rotation of the wheel takes approximately 30 minutes and on a clear day, visitors will be able to see up to a distance of 40 kilometers. The London Eye is not only a symbol of the city but also a global icon that should not be missed when exploring the sights and attractions of London.

Prayer Facilities

Muslim visitors will not be able to offer their prayers while at the London Eye, however they will be able to locate mosques in the area; as London is known to have numerous mosques that are visited by locals as well tourists. Baitul Aziz Islamic Cultural Place is one such prayer facility in the area that can be used if necessary.

Halal Food

There is a fantastic selection of restaurants to be found in the area surrounding the London Eye, however these restaurants may not all be Halal certified. Muslim tourists could make inquiries at the mosque regarding nearby Halal restaurants or ask the locals to direct them to a good restaurant nearby that serves Halal cuisine.
