Overview

The tallest building in Sydney - the Sydney Tower - soars 309 metres into the sky and is a prominent landmark in the city. Designed by the Australian architect Donald Crone, the tower was completed in 1981 and is presently open to the public for sight-seeing. It features an observatory deck - the Sydney Tower Eye - at the fourth level of the tower. Visitors are given a magnificent 360 degree view of the surrounding city in the distance, at an elevation of over 250 metres above the ground. It can be reached via high-speed lifts that shoot up to the top of the tower within seconds. The tower also offers a number of restaurants, eateries and gift shops that cater specially to tourists. A visit to the Sydney Tower is highly recommended for those sight-seeing around the city.

Prayer Facilities

Though designated prayer room facilities at the Sydney Tower might be unavailable, there are a few mosques near the Sydney Tower - Surry Hills Mosque and Redfern Mosque - are located a short distance away and can be reached in a few minutes' drive. Muslim travellers may also enquire for a private area at the Sydney Tower to make use of during prayer times.

Halal Food

A few Halal restaurants near the Sydney Tower are available, located a short walk away. Popular spots include the Zaaffran Restaurant and Aki's Indian Restaurant - both serving an enticing range of Indian cuisine. Though Halal food at the restaurants at the Sydney Tower may not be available, vegetarian food or seafood may be available.
