Overview

The ancient city center of Antalya city - Kaleiçi - is a top attraction in Antalya and is a popular attraction amongst tourists. With its name translating to "inside the fortress", Kaleiçi is located towards to east of the centre of the city, along the Mediterranean coast. In the past, the entire city of Antalya was enclosed by the walls of the Kaleiçi and it is still home to a number of buildings and structures that have origins dating back to the Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman periods. Key landmarks of Kaleiçi include - the Clock Tower, Hadrian's Gate, Hıdırlık Tower, İskele mosque, Kalekapısı, Karatay Medrese, Kesik Minare, the Yacht Harbour, Yivli Minare, Mermerli Park, Suna & Inan Kıraç Kaleiçi Museum and Yat Limani. The area is also home to a number of Halal-friendly accommodation options, Halal restaurants and shopping boutiques to cater to the needs of all Muslim travellers to Kaleiçi.

Several mosques in Kaleiçi – such as the İskele mosque and the Tekeli Mehmet Paşa Mosque are available for Muslim travellers to visit during prayer times.
