The Mahnmal St. Nikolai is considered as one of the most beautiful buildings in Hamburg. It was rebuilt after being severely damaged in a great fire, only to be burnt down again during the air raids of World War I. The remains of the church now serve as a war victim memorial. Tierpark Hagenbeck (Hagenbeck Zoo) is one of the most well known zoos in the country. It is also one of the oldest. It ‘s popularity is due to the fact that a wide variety of animals are free to roam in huge, open-air enclosures surrounded by moats, rather than in standard zoo cages. On the same property of the zoo, is an aquarium. Tierpark Hagenbeck ensures a fun day out for the entire family. For train enthusiasts, the Miniatur Wunderland is a must visit. It is the largest model railway exhibition in the world and is a popular attraction in Hamburg.
Tourists must also visit the Fischmarkt or the Fish Market. It is held every Sunday morning and is well worth the early rise. Visitors will be able to see live fish auctions and buy fresh, delicious fish. The market also has a huge range of other goods for sale such as; birds, fruits, antiques and so on. For those looking for more modern shopping malls, The Europa Passage is the main shopping mall in Hamburg. It is a large mall home to a large number of popular stores.

Hamburg has an international airport that is located 8.5 north of the centre of the city. Hamburg Airport is easily accessible by private and public transport. There are certain public trains and buses that run from the city to the airport and back.
