All of us didn't want the day to end. We wanted to stay in Indonesia forever! But all good things has to end. We decided to head to the beach behind our hotel and take pictures before we bid adieu. So we walked together reminiscing the days we had together. Once there, we couldn't stop taking pictures. The sand and the sea harmonised to create a beautiful picture. Lelah and I went into the sea just to leave our mark. Hehe Afterwhich we went our separate ways before meeting again in the lobby. Fatin and Yuyu bid us goodbye. I will miss the team. We left our hotel early to watch the Barong dance which left us wanting to see more of what Bali can offer. I realised that the Balinese are very detailed and colourful. They are very proud of their culture and I appreciate that. After which, we went to Sari Amerta Batik Collection to view and buy the beautiful batik that they have to offer. I bought a beautiful black batik which I planned to wear as a skirt. We then left for lunch at Kintamani where our restaurant, Suling Bali Restaurant, is overlooking Mt Batur. It was a scenic view. After lunch, we went to Tegallalang to view the paddy terraces. We left early to reach Jimbaran before the sun sets. Alhamdulillah we reached there just in time and subhanaAllah, I couldn't have asked for a better ending to our trip. It was indeed the highlight of my Bali trip. It was worth all that travelling in the morning! I'm sad that it was our last night with Yuyu and Fatin. We became so close these 7 days. Friendship was forged and we promised to keep in touch. We reached Bali at around 11:00 a.m. I have been anticipating this leg of the trip. I've always wanted to go to Bali. The minute we stepped out of the plane, I was already in love with the carvings and details. Last night was wonderful. We had the whole evening to ourselves where we can roam around on our own and explore Kuta by ourselves. It was pretty weird not having an itinerary after the little shopping but we all got used to it. Wanden (our tour guide) brought us to the Masjid Agung Assasutaqwa. We all know that Bali is an island of Hinduism but mosques are aplenty. We visited a few shopping places. And one of the biggest that we went to yesterday was Krishna. I didn't want to spend on anything at first but came out with a few things. After shopping at Krishna, the rest of the group went back to the hotel, Lelah and I went to the mall next door to stock up on some groceries. By groceries I mean snacks. Haha! We went back to the hotel to rest for a little before heading out to dinner with Yuyu and her family. We decided to go to Discovery Shopping Mall and have our dinner at Solaria, a halal certified restaurant. Food was delish! Try the Nasi Goreng Italy. The Nasi goreng actually tastes like pizza. Yuyu left and we decided to explore the place a little. You don't go to Bali and not go to the beach right? So we sat at a restaurant by the beach and ordered a mocktail. We came home pretty tired. I'm writing this while on my way to the airport. I was too comfortable in the hotel to blog. We left Garut bright and early in the morning for Bandung. All of us were excited. Lelah and I were exceptionally excited to be back in the city that we loved so much. Yesterday was all shopping. We basically shopped the whole day. My luggage is crying for space! I bought 10 boxes of henna, multiple shawls, clothes and etc. Who says no to shopping anyway?? Our destination was Rumah Mode, Saung Angklung Mang Udjo(where we had a chance to play the angklung. I throughly enjoyed myself there!) and Jalan Riau. Our last stop was breathtaking. Our hotel. It was beautiful. It was everything I wanted in a hotel. I felt like a princess last night sleeping in our room. I felt like Cinderella! The Noor Bandung is amazing. This Islamic-based hotel, owned by a Muslim makes you feel safe. I had to go down late at night but I felt safe walking down the aisle of the hotel. The interior, subhanAllah. InsyaAllah if I do come again, I will definitely choose to stay at The Noor Bandung again. No doubt. Thank you Bandung for the hospitality. Special thanks to my followers who came all the way down to the hotel and gifted me things. I feel so welcomed and I appreciate it. I left my heart in Bandung the last time I came. Phew! Today was rough. We were on the road most of the time and it was bumpy. We drove up and down and by the end of the day, I got really sick. Lelah even threw up. I just needed to find my equilibrium. But even with all that, we had a great time. We started off with lunch at Nasi Liwet "Asep Strawberry" Ciaro, Nagreg. This really was the highlight of the day. All off us on the trip agreed that this tops the day. Right from the point when we entered the restaurant, the view had me. Imagine eating overlooking mountains and paddy fields! The air was very cool. And of course the food was amazing. I think I gained 3kg already. Hehe. Then we headed off to Pondok Pesantren Suryalaya Tasikmalaya. It was really an insightful visit. After that we were back on the road. The drive to our resort was a long and arduous one. But the it was all worth it. The resort was nothing short of amazing. I love Garut. I'll be back. . Hello everyone! This morning, I skipped breakfast and chose to sleep in instead. Don't you worry. I will definitely try Sofyan Inn's breakfast tomorrow. We started off the day with Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII)! I remember visiting TMII when I was younger (way younger). Actually the only thing I remembered is taking the ferris wheel. We visited Rumah Gadang, home to the people of Minangkabau. If you follow me on snapchat (nurfatiin) and twitter (@inmyshawls), which you totally should, you would have seen the buildings and attractions I saw earlier today. The facade of the Rumah Gadang is beautiful beyond words. The design on the house itself is so intricate I'm sure it takes a lot of man hours to complete it. Afterwhich we went to Anjungan Provinsi Papua. We witnessed the tribe houses as well as the artifacts used by the people of Papua. It was the most interesting one we saw today. We then went to Jawa Tengah. I was pretty excited about this one. My late grandfather was from Jawa Tengah. He was brought to Singapore during the Japanese occupation. I never got to ask him about my ancestors or cousins for that matter. But hey, at least I was 'home'! We had lunch at New Indah Kuring Indonesian Food & Seafood. I especially enjoyed the dessert. I can't even explain how good it tasted! After lunch, we went to Masjid Istiqlal for Zuhr. It boasts to be the largest mosque in Southeast Asia. It felt like I was in a stadium! The prayer hall is indeed very beautiful. So glad we made it inside today. Yesterday we only managed to hear stories about the National Monument. Today, we were up close. I heard that we can go up the monument but it was already close when we were there. Our next activity was a personal favourite of mine. Shopping!! We went to Grand Indonesia first. It's almost like our ION but bigger! We didn't have much time to walk around but the prices are slightly lower than that of Singapore. Next stop: Thamrin City Thamrin City is a wholesale mall where you can find apparels and fabrics. I had one mission. To find cotton telekung. We bought five pieces! Once you go cotton, you won't turn back. Lelah and I love our cotton telekung. Today was fun and very tiring at the same time! There was a lot of walking and eating. I think I've gained 5kg already! I gotta sleep now because tomorrow we're leaving early for Bandung. Can't wait to be back! Lelah is already asleep. I should join her now. Talk to you tomorrow! . Click here to view my timeline! .
