Bukhara

Bukhara is one of downtown Cape Town's best formal South Asian restaurants. Lunch is served from 12-3 and dinner from 6-late. It is located on the second floor above the famous Church Street market square and just a stone's throw from the BoKaap mosques. Lunch on the veranda is a refreshing change of atmosphere from where one can watch the bustling marketplace vendors below. In the evening, the cool breeze and live outdoor music from the cafes below make for an enchanting dining experience. If one chooses to sit inside, the charcoal-fired Tandoor ovens are visible from behind a sheet of glass, which shields the patrons from the smell, smoke, and noises of the kitchen.
