Harummanis

A new fully Muslim-owned local restaurant in the heart of Kampong Gelam. The owner/creative director is a Singaporean Chef, Akmal Anuar who is based in Dubai.

Having worked in restaurants in Singapore such as Les Amis, St Pierre, and Iggys, he has now ventured overseas and has over 6 different restaurants and a 1 Michelin star for his restaurant ( 11woodfire Dubai) as well as several Michelin bib gourmands (otoro, goldfish) as well as a F&B consultancy named White rice.co

We are a casual dining restaurant, doing modern Malay cuisine.

Diners are encouraged to come with an open mind as we are not a traditional Malay restaurant. Either having Malay ingredients or Malay methods of cooking. At Harummanis restaurant, diners can expect Chef Akmal's bold interpretation of Malay cuisine, which is based on his perspectives, travels, and experiences of growing up in Singapore and his rich experience of cooking cuisines from Japanese to modern European. The dishes will feature twists and nuances of his roots and produce and spices from Southeast Asia. Our restaurant's decor is inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Malay prints and patterns and features royal colors such as gold and yellow.
