Day 1 : Arrival and Orientation
Welcome to the Nature Retreat! After check-in, join a welcoming ceremony where you’ll get an overview of permaculture principles.
Participate in camp orientation and safety guidelines, followed by a campus tour and ice-breaking games to connect with fellow campers.
Day 2 : Permaculture Ethics and Principles
Learn about the ethics and principles of permaculture through engaging sessions. Get hands-on experience designing a permaculture garden bed and participate in workshops on soil health and composting.
Day 3 : Organic Gardening and Rainwater Harvesting
Start the day with morning exercises before diving into the world of organic gardening techniques. Join workshops on rainwater harvesting and irrigation methods, followed by a practical session on planting crops using permaculture principles. End the day with a group discussion on sustainable agriculture and food security.
Day 4 : Biodiversity and Native Plants
Explore the importance of biodiversity and native plants in permaculture. Participate in the “Feed for Your Food for Free” session to learn alternative ways to feed livestock while reducing health risks.
Day 5 : Urban Gardening and Plant Propagation
Dive into the world of urban gardening with a session focused on making green spaces in small areas. By the end of the day, learn about plant propagation, including tools and methods for propagating banana, chaya, and ginger plants.
Day 6 : Permaculture Design and Fire-Making Workshop
Design a permaculture plan for the campsite using all the skills you’ve learned so far. Later, join a workshop on creating a fire using a 16 Brick Rocket Stove, an eco-friendly and efficient fire-making method.
Day 7 : Final Projects and Farewell Ceremony
Campers will work on their final permaculture projects, showcasing what they’ve learned throughout the retreat. Conclude with a closing ceremony, farewell dinner, and group photos, celebrating the connections and knowledge gained during your time at the retreat.
