Jakarta, Indonesia - Ranch Market and the Gourmet partners with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to organize USA FAIR 2024 to mark the U.S. Independence Day, which was celebrated on July 4, 2024, and celebrate 75 years of U.S. Indonesia diplomatic relations (diversity, democracy, and prosperity). The U.S. food promotion started on July 15 and ends on July 31, 2024, at all Ranch Market and the Gourmet outlets nationwide.
USA Fair is an annual retail promotion featuring U.S. food and beverage products in high-end grocery supermarkets in Indonesia for two weeks of programs, coinciding with the 4th of July celebrations. The program is organized by the Office of Agricultural Affairs (USDA) at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta. The promotion will take place from July 15 to July 31, 2024, at 20 stores Ranch Market and The Gourmet, targeting shoppers and consumers in Jakarta, Tangerang, Surabaya, and Malang. These locations provide an ideal environment to showcase the quality and variety of U.S. fresh produce and grocery products to a discerning clientele.
The primary goal of this partnership is to highlight a diverse range of U.S. food products, including fruits (such as strawberries, blueberries, apples, plums, and peaches), U.S. beef, breakfast items, cooking essentials, popcorn, snacks, and other food products. This collaboration not only strengthens business ties but also enriches the lives of customers by offering high-quality products. Ranch Market and The Gourmet anticipate continued mutual growth and success, aiming to bring the best of both nations to our communities and promote healthy lifestyles through premium produce.
The opening ceremony on July 17, 2024, at Ranch Market Grand Indonesia featured a cooking demo by Chef Chandra Yudasswara, food tasting of various U.S. brands, performance from the real cowboys of Nebraska state, and photo competitions with a Nebraska theme to engage consumers. The opening ceremony coincides with the visit of Nebraska Lieutenant Governor Kelly and a delegation to Indonesia. Lieutenant Governor Kelly delivered opening remarks, cut the ribbon with Ranch Market VIPs and the Agricultural Counselor and Attaché of the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, participated in cooking demonstrations, and took family photos with Nebraska ranchers, and the USA Fair mascot Agnes Berry.
Producers of authentic U.S. products and distributors in Indonesia are also invited to showcase their products through cooking and giving tasters of their products. Visitors and invitees to the event are also able to experience all of these fun activities.
This year, USA FAIR 2024 offers various programs, including the best deals on U.S. branded products, a 20 percent discount on U.S. beef, 30 percent on U.S. popcorn, and customers with a minimum spend of Rp250,000 on U.S. products at selected stores on July 27-28, 2024, will receive a free special edition tote bag. Additionally, there will be an exciting photo competition at Ranch Market Grand Indonesia in collaboration with Nebraska; the photo with the most likes will win a family-size gift basket of high-quality beef from Nebraska, USA.
Cooking demos will also be held in several Jakarta stores. As part of the promotion, Ranch Market and The Gourmet will create a U.S. foods promotional pavilion at their selected stores such as Ranch Market Grand Indonesia, Pesanggrahan, and Pondok Indah Mall highlighting perishable products such as fruits, dairy, and meats in dedicated U.S. — themed sections.
Offerings that are highlighted in the USA Fair 2024, such as U.S. beef and popcorn, are great items for Muslims to purchase as it is safe to consume. These imported beef are halal certified and have been fed and slaughtered in a halal way.
