Fruits might not be the favorite food for most of the population, however, the nutrition values that are contained in them are essential for your daily intake. Making fruits and their importance to be irreplaceable with other forms of foods.

While fruits in general might be hard to consume, banana on the other hand is a different case. Rich in vitamin A, magnesium, and potassium with a delicious taste, it is not hard to understand why bananas topped the number of consumption in several countries as one of the generally loved fruits! Bananas do not have a seasonal limit too! Making it the perfect fruit to snack on and fulfill your daily nutrition.

1. Oreo Banana Microwaved Cake

This is one of the easiest cakes to recreate, as you’ll only need a microwave and simple ingredients. With ingredients that are easy to find and recipes that are easy to recreate, you’ll get yourself a fudgy and moist cake that could compete with store-bought cakes. Guaranteed it would be your go-to recipe for years to come!

Ingredients

  1. A pack of Oreos (24 pcs), original or chocolate flavor recommended
  2. Half pint (236 ml) of full cream milk
  3. Butter
  4. A banana
  5. Any thickening agents

Instructions

  1. Separate Oreos and the fillings into two different bowls. The Oreos will function as the batter and the fillings as the glaze.
  2. Crush/blend cookies and milk together until the batter is smooth. Transfer it to a butter-greased cake pan.
  3. Cook in a microwave for 7 minutes or until it sets. You can check by poking it with a toothpick and if it comes out clean, then it's ready. 
  4. While you’re waiting for the cake to cool down, blend the bananas and put them alongside the oreo fillings.
  5. Cook until the filling melts and integrates with the blended bananas. Add a small amount of thickening agents to make the glaze much gooier. Let it cool.
  6. Serve the cake and glaze them. Add crumbled Oreos or sliced bananas for toppings.

Pro-tip: 

You may opt to use a steamer for a lighter consistency, or bake them for a crispier texture and dense consistency. 

 

2. Yogurt Banana Parfait

No confidence in your baking or cooking skills? No worries, this yogurt banana will satisfy your cravings for bananas. Flavorful and nutritious! All you need to do here is chop or slice things up, and then stack them. Guaranteed to fulfill your daily vitamin intake!

Ingredients

  1. Greek yogurt
  2. A banana
  3. Roasted peanuts
  4. Cereal
  5. Multigrain oatmeal
  6. 2 teaspoons of honey

Instructions

  1. Slice bananas and chop the peanuts into smaller pieces.
  2. Layer the glass with all of the ingredients in any order, with bananas, oatmeal, cereal, and yogurt in a 1:1/2:1/2:2 ratio.
  3. Finish off by drizzling honey and chopped peanuts on top.

Pro-tip: Chill them overnight to have an even taste and texture.

 

3. Pisang Goreng Keju/Fried Banana with Cheese

If you’re a fan of fried foods then this would probably be one of your favorite snacks. Crispy and sweet, what more can you ask? The only difficulty while recreating this recipe is to stop eating them :).

Ingredients

  1. 2 bananas
  2. 100 gr flour
  3. 3 tablespoons of butter
  4. Sugar and salt
  5. Block of cheese
  6. Bar of chocolate
  7. Sweetened condensed milk
  8. Oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the batter by combining flour, butter, a pinch of sugar and salt, and water. Your batter should have a slightly runny consistency.
  2. Slice/chop the bananas according to your liking and mix them into the batter.
  3. Heat oil and fry the bananas until it is golden brown on medium heat.
  4. Serve the fried bananas with grated cheese, chocolate, and a drizzle of condensed milk.

Pro-tip:

  1. If you’re a fan of the ooey-gooey texture of ripe bananas, frying them longer is a must in order to keep the batter firm enough and to have the banana to be melty once bitten.
  2. Coat the batter with panko and opt for different toppings in order to create banana nuggets.

4. Banana Bread

It would be a crime to include banana-based recipes without including everyone's favorite banana bread! While it might seem complex, banana bread is actually one of the simplest baked goods that you can create at home. Here’s a recipe for you to try!

Ingredients

  1. 3 bananas, overripe
  2. 1 cup of white sugar
  3. 1 egg
  4. Melted butter
  5. 1½ cup all-purpose flour
  6. 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  7. Salt
  8. Vanilla essence

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 165 degrees.
  2. Mash the bananas and combine them with sugar, egg, and butter in a bowl.
  3. Mix baking soda, flour, and vanilla essence in a different bowl, and then pour them into the same bowl. Mix well and add a pinch of salt.
  4. Pour batter into a greased loaf and bake for an hour.

Pro-tipReplace white sugar with brown sugar for a stronger scent.
