In the bustling culinary world of Penang, Malaysia, Auntie Gaik Lean has established a legacy of Peranakan cuisine, earning a MICHELIN star for two consecutive years. Known for her meticulous attention to traditional recipes, Auntie Gaik Lean’s dishes are a homage to her family’s culinary heritage.

Her return to Peppermint is a highly anticipated event, and this year, she brings with her three new signature dishes: Sambal Udang, Cincaru Rempah, and Kerabu Bee Hoon with Tiger Prawn. Each dish promises a burst of authentic Nyonya flavors, crafted with love and precision.

Indulge in the King of Fruits
Grilled Durian Bakar

For durian enthusiasts, the ‘Savour the Straits Peranakan Buffet’ offers a special treat. On Friday and Saturday evenings, Peppermint’s Urban Farm transforms into a durian paradise. Guests can indulge in free-flow Mao Shan Wang, Red Prawn, and D24 durians, freshly delivered from Malaysia. The creamy, rich flesh of these premium varieties is de-shelled on the spot, ensuring the freshest experience. Additionally, warm, grilled durian adds a smoky, caramelized twist to the king of fruits, elevating its natural sweetness.

Yes, you read that right; the Durians are grilled and served with Gula Melaka! A must-try for durian lovers, it brings a unique taste that elevates the already glorious taste of durian. Something we rarely see here in Singapore.

Free-flow durians are available on the weekend dinner dining slots (Fridays, Saturdays, and National Day public holiday, 6:30pm to 10:00pm).

A Feast for the Senses: National Day Fireworks

The buffet experience is further enhanced by the vibrant celebrations of Singapore’s National Day. On Saturday evenings during the National Day Parade previews (July 27 and August 3) and on August 9, guests at Peppermint can enjoy a spectacular display of fireworks lighting up the sky. This visual feast complements the culinary delights, creating a truly memorable dining experience.
