Opening Dua of Salat Transliteration

وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي فَطَرَ السَّموَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ

wajjahtu wajhiya li 'l-ladhi fataras-samawati wa 'l-arda

Have turned my face sincerely towards He who has brought forth the heavens and the earth.

حَنِيفاً وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ

hanifan wa ma ana min al-mushrikina

and I am not of those who associate (others with Allah).

إِنَّ صَلَاتِي، وَنُسُكِي، وَمَحْيَايَ، وَمَمَاتِي للهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

inna salati wa nusuki wa mahyaya wa mamatee lillahi rabbi 'l-alamina,

Indeed my prayer, my sacrifice, my life and my death are for Allah, Lord of the Worlds,

لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَبِذَلِكَ أُمِرْتُ وَأَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ

la sharika lahu wa bi dhalika umirtu wa ana min al-muslimina.

no partner has He, with this I am commanded and I am of the Muslims.

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الْمَلِكُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ

Allahumma anta 'l-maliku la ilaha illa anta

O Allah, You are the sovereign, none has the right to be worshipped except You.

أَنْتَ رَبِّي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ

anta rabbi wa ana 'abduka,

You are my Lord and I am your servant,

ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي

zalamtu nafsi

I have wronged my own soul

وَاعْتَرَفْتُ بَذَنْبِي

wa 'taraftu bi dhanbi

and have acknowledged my sin,

فَاغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي جَمِيعاً

faghfir li dhunubi jami 'an

so forgive me all my sins

إِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ

innahu la yaghfiru dh-dhunuba illa anta

for no one forgives sins except You.

وَاهْدِنِي لأّحْسَنِ الْأَخْلَاقِ

wahdini li-ahsani 'l-akhlaqi

Guide me to the best of characters

لَا يَهْدِي لأَحْسَنِهَا إِلَّا أَنْتَ

la yahdi li ahsaniha illa anta

or none can guide to it other than You,

وَاصْرِفْ عَنِّي سَيِّئَهَا

wasrif 'anni sayyi'aha

and deliver me from the worst of characters

لَا يَصْرِفُ عَنِّي سَيِّئَهَا إِلَّا أَنْتَ

la yasrifu 'anni sayyi'aha illa anta

for none can deliver me from it other than You.

لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ

labbayka wa sa'dayka

Here I am, in answer to Your call, happy to serve You.

وَالْخَيْرُ كُلُّهُ بِيَدَيْكَ

wa 'l-khayru kulluhu bi yadayka

All good is within your hands

وَالشَّرُّ لَيْسَ إِلَيْكَ

wa 'sh-sharru laysa ilayka

and evil does not stem from You.

أَنَا بِكَ وَإِلَيْكَ

ana bika wa ilayka

I exist by your will and will return to You.

تَبَارَكْتَ وَتَعَالَيْتَ

tabarakta wa ta 'alayta

Blessed and High are You,

أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ

astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayka

I seek your forgiveness and repent unto You.
