The 2022 Islamic Solidarity Games will be the 5th edition of the event, which is scheduled to take place in Konya, Turkey from August 9th to August 18th, 2022.
The event was initially scheduled to take place in 2021 but was postponed due to potential travel problems caused by COVID-19.

The Islamic Solidarity Games are a multi-sport international event in which the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's (OIC) finest athletes compete in a range of disciplines.
The Solidarity Games were founded to strengthen Islamic solidarity and reinforce Islamic ideals, particularly among youth.
Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and The Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) are the organizations in charge of the Islamic Solidarity Games' direction and control.
The final schedule of the sports that will take place at the games in Turkey was revealed in March 2022, and it included 22 disciplines from 19 sports with over 390 events, including four parasports.
Prince Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz came up with this idea during the Third Islamic Summit in 1981 which paved the way for the first Islamic Solidarity Games to take place in Mecca, Saudi Arabia in 2015.
Currently, there are 57 members of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC). The Games are open to non-Muslim citizens of the participating countries as well.

The Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) has organized 3 successful editions of the Islamic Solidarity Games:
Saudi Arabia 2005 in the city of Mecca (4248 participants from 54 countries)
Indonesia 2013 in the city of Palembang (2575 participants from 39 countries)
Baku 2017 en Azerbaijan (5791 participants from about 40 countries)

Athletes from OIC member countries will go to Cameroon for the 6th edition of the ISG, which will take place 20 years after the first.
The Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) announced on April 15, 2021, that the 2025 Games will be held in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
