It's rare to come across a restaurant that is rated with a perfect 5-star on Google Reviews. Hayat Paddington is that rare gem, a quaint little cafe situated a couple of blocks from Paddington train station.
I stumbled upon this cafe by chance and ended up visiting this restaurant twice on my 4-day trip. A family-operated business, Hayat Paddington brings a fusion of Mediterranean and Western flavors to their dishes that are cooked from the heart. At the front of their entrance is a Halal sticker so you know you are at the right place.
All their meals are well-cooked and made fresh. Their woodfire pizzas, pita bread, hummus, and tajin were delightful to savor and the coffee is made with barista quality. If you don't fancy Middle Eastern food, there are also Western and vegetarian options to choose from. Do give Hayat Paddington a visit if you are around the area!

Known as one of London's best spots for Halal English breakfast, Grounded London is a beautiful cafe that serves high-quality brunch meals all-day using organic ingredients and Halal-certified meat. You can quickly locate the restaurant by its long queue across Altab Ali Park on the main road of Whitechapel Road.
Some of my top favorite meals other than the signature English breakfasts are French toast and buttermilk pancakes. I find the portion just right for the price. The coffee is also freshly roasted each morning so that your day will be just as strong as your coffee.
If you are a certified brunch lover, then Grounded London is the perfect place to get your fix.

Camden's latest Halal brunch place is a vintage coffee shop that has the vibes of a cozy fireplace. It serves a multitude of international cuisine, from pancakes to shakshuka (a popular Middle Eastern breakfast item) that are both pleasing to the eye (and Instagram) and taste buds.
Although this place opens early, it gets quite crowded during brunch hour and is hence a testament that Lumi is a hit among brunch enthusiasts. Although pork is served, the restaurant provides Halal and vegetarian alternatives to accommodate the palate of their customers. Also, the customer service here deserves a 5-star.

Just a few steps from Victoria Coach Station is a high-end bakery that has become a local favorite since 2021. If you enjoy a delicious assortment of bakery goods and pastries, then you must try their monthly special croissant. Some worthy recommendations include the zaatar and gruyere croissant and its selection of flatbread (my favorite is the Brie flatbread) from the clay oven.
The price is slightly on the high side but the portion is seriously worth it for the flavors and its team of professional bakers. So get your bread or you are toast!

Most people will assume British food is bland but not Dishoom. This Bombay-inspired restaurant has the familiarity of South-East Asian flavors with a kick of spice. It is raved to be one of the best restaurants in town, surpassing many Michelin-starred places with its well-crafted dishes, impeccable service, and lively atmosphere.
Each dish is worth exploring, with Western and Indian fusion meals as well as vegetarian options. A popular favorite is the Kejriwal (two fried eggs on chili toast), egg naan roll, and Parsi omelette.
It is best to make reservations in advance. Otherwise, be prepared to queue for more than an hour, especially during the weekends.
