The one place you must check off your bucket list is the world’s most famous art gallery, made popular by its iconic artworks and movies featuring it.

Now, if you are thinking twice about entering here after seeing photos of crowds by the Mona Lisa painting, let me assure you that you don’t have to worry about space. After all, you are in the world’s largest museum by size so you have ample room to admire the artworks on display. It will take you almost half a day to tour this unique attraction.

While there are restaurants inside the museum, there are no Halal options, although there are other food alternatives such as vegetarian and seafood meals.

2. Bastille Day in Paris

France’s national day, also known as Bastille Day, which falls on July 14th, is the biggest celebration especially with the Summer Olympics that are being held this year. However, visiting Paris for Bastille Day or planning your trip around that particular date for your upcoming summer adventures will always be worth it. There will be fireworks, events, festivals, free admission to attractions, and many more to celebrate the nation’s Independence Day.

Don’t miss out on the morning parade that will start from Arc de Triomphe, and end with fireworks by the Champ de Mars.

Many museums and monuments, including the Louvre, will have free admission on this day so take this once-in-a-year opportunity to explore Paris’ unique places!

If you love charming old city architecture, Vieux-Lille is the perfect place to be with its cobbled streets and surrounding canals.

This bustling city also has renowned restaurants, such as the Meert pastry shop where you can have some delicious waffles in the tea room. You can also chill by one of the cafes near Grand’Place and sip a delicious cup of coffee with your friends.

Tip: I highly recommend going on a walking tour!

4. Lavender Fields of Provence

The lavenders are in full bloom from June to August and are at their brightest from mid-July onwards. There is not a particular field to visit but instead, multiple fields between the Luberon and Verdon regions.

The lavenders smell amazing and are known to reduce stress levels! So if you want to clear your mind, walk along the rows of lavender and you will feel better!

Do note that most of these fields are private property belonging to farmers, so do ask for permission before visiting.

Get a majestic view of nature at The French Alps where you can access the highest attraction in Europe, the Aiguille du Midi, by cable car.

But that’s not the only attraction you can find here: you can visit pretty medieval towns such as Annecy, Chamonix, and Briancon, and participate in various outdoor activities such as hiking, paragliding, or canoeing.

Fun fact: some of the world’s best rock climbers will compete here!

6. The Volcanoes of Auvergne

There are over 450 dormant volcanoes spread out in this natural park, transforming into beautiful greeneries and meadows on rich lava soil for visitors to admire. You can explore multiple hiking trails which will lead you to villages, picturesque landscapes, and natural lakes.

The most popular area is the Chaîne des Puys, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which consists of 80 volcanoes, lava domes, and cinder cones. Some fun trails to check out for all ages are the Conqueror’s Trail and Discovery Trail.

7. Tout l’Monde Dehors Festival

Lyon’s biggest summer festival which translates to “Everybody Out” is an outdoor event that runs throughout the season from June to September. Each year, there are over 300 art and cultural events happening around town: from free film screenings to concerts to social dancing.

It’s a great way to mingle with locals and tourists and experience the local creative scene in “la Ville des Lumières” (the City of Lights).

The city of Nice has a signature walkway by the beach known as Promenade des Anglais, where you can sunbathe and relax on the Mediterranean Coast. This 7 km path extends to the Nice International Airport and is linked to both private and public beaches.

There are a few vegetarian restaurants and multiple restrooms alongside the beach so you can take rest breaks in between if you are going for a stroll!
