Riyadh, the vibrant capital of Saudi Arabia, is a city where ancient history and modern adventure intertwine. Al Masmak Fort, a symbol of Saudi resilience, where the walls echo with stories of the past, is a must-visit. For those with an adventurous spirit, a trip to Jebel Fihrayn, the "Edge of the World," offers a mesmerising view of the horizon and hiking trails that make the 1.5 to 2-hour journey from the city well worth it

For a better understanding of the region, the National Museum of Riyadh offers exhibits that bring to life the cultural and historical evolution of this fascinating country. If art speaks to your soul, don’t miss the Al Ajlan Art Gallery and Abstract Art Gallery, where artistic works offer a glimpse into the creative pulse of the region.

Shopping in Riyadh is an experience in itself. At Deera Souq, you’ll find everything from vibrant carpets and intricate jewellery to unique antiques and traditional clothing. For something truly special, Souk Al-Zal is your go-to destination. Known for its array of antiques, rare coins, and old utensils, this market feels like stepping into a museum of ancient folk traditions. You might even stumble upon old musical instruments or vintage record players, each with its story to tell.

After a day of exploring, treat yourself to a meal at Najd Village, Barbar, or Maiz. But sometimes, the simplest pleasures are the most memorable—like enjoying a street corner shawarma, hummus, and falafel. Pair it with a soft drink, and you've got yourself an unbeatable combination!

Jeddah

Jeddah, the friendly gateway to the Kingdom, is the perfect starting point for first-time travellers eager to experience the rich culture of Saudi Arabia. Begin your journey with a sunset or sunrise stroll along the Corniche, where locals gather to unwind and enjoy the serene views of the Red Sea. The historic Al-Balad district beckons with its centuries-old coral stone houses and labyrinthine alleyways, offering a glimpse into the city's past. Here, the air is thick with the scent of oud and cloves; the bustling Souq Al Alawi invites you to explore its vibrant stalls.

Abu Tair Island is a beloved local diving spot, explore the mysterious wreck of The Staphonos, also known as the Cable Wreck. As you swim among the coral reefs, keep an eye out for sharks and rays that glide through the depths, adding a thrilling touch to your underwater experience. Visit the Floating Mosque, which is a serene and iconic landmark in Jeddah. And if you're in the mood for adrenaline-pumping fun, Al Shallal Theme Park offers thrilling rides like the roller coaster, tagada, star flyer, and wild mouse.

Visitors can find different restaurants serving cuisines from across the world. Some of the popular halal restaurants in the city include the Barrio Fiesta, Khayal, Abu Zaid, and Al Khayyam Restaurant. Suggestion: try Al Baik, which is an iconic local fast-food chain, where the broast chicken, fish fillet sandwich, and chicken nuggets, all served with their famous garlic sauce, are absolute must-tries.

Abha is located in the Asir region and is one of Saudi Arabia's most scenic cities. Begin your journey at Asir National Park, home to the breathtaking Al-Soudah Park, which boasts the highest peak in the Kingdom. Just a long drive away (2 hours), you’ll find the enchanting village of Rijal Almaa, often called the Gingerbread Village. This 700-year-old gem, with its multi-story stone houses adorned in vibrant patterns, immerses you in the region’s deep-rooted traditions and history, offering a glimpse into the lives of the women who have preserved this unique art form, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.

For those who crave stunning vistas, the Al-Dabab Walkway is a must-visit. This seven-kilometer trail, perched 2,200 meters above sea level, offers panoramic views of the Sarawat Mountains, cascading waterfalls, and terraced farms. As you walk, the swirling clouds of fog that often blanket the landscape create a surreal atmosphere, making it feel like you’re walking through a dream. Abha Dam is another major attraction in the city where you can get a stunning view of the lake.

Diriyah

Steeped in history and charm, Diriyah is a must-visit spot for those inclined to learn more about Saudi Arabia's rich past. Established in the 15th century, this "City of Earth" is the original home of the royal family and offers a glimpse into the Kingdom's early days. Wander through the streets of At-Turaif, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and witness stunning examples of Nadji-style architecture.

But Diriyah isn’t just about history; it’s also a place of natural beauty. Wadi Hanifa, a lush valley that winds through the town, has crystal-clear streams and vibrant vegetation. Once a crucial source of irrigation for local farms and a stopover for travellers, Wadi Hanifa now provides a picturesque setting for relaxation and reflection. After soaking in the natural and historical wonders, head to Bujairi Terrace, where world-class restaurants and cafes offer the perfect spot to unwind and savour lip-smacking dishes.

Taif

Located in the Makkah province, Taif is fondly known as the "City of Roses" for its fragrant rose fields and thriving perfume industry. As Saudi Arabia's summer retreat, this city offers a refreshing escape from the desert's scorching heat, earning it the title of "The Summer Capital of Saudi Arabia." The mild climate makes Taif a haven for those seeking natural beauty, where the landscape is dotted with grapes, fig orchards, and pomegranates. The city's scenic views can be enjoyed through cable cars.

The city is home to Shubra Palace, a stunning blend of Islamic and Roman architecture that offers a glimpse into the region’s rich history. For those who love the great outdoors, the Mauwiyah Dam, surrounded by lush greenery, is perfect for a peaceful day out. Saiysad National Park and Al Wahba Crater too cannot be missed.
