For anyone who has ever been to East Coast Park, you would almost certainly have heard of East Coast Lagoon Food Village. It has always been a pitstop for me when I cycle at ECP, just to enjoy a refreshing cup of sugar cane, or coconut water straight from the fruit.
While there, it’s hard to resist the delicious satay from Haron Satay, and mouth-watering seafood dishes from stalls like High Kee BBQ Seafood and Huat Huat BBQ Seafood. More than just a pitstop, the hawker centre has been a staple dinner- and supper-spot for beach-goers in the east for years.
Unfortunately, East Coast Lagoon Food Village has closed down for renovations and will reopen next year in February. For now, we can only wait for it to reopen while missing the good food.
Till then, here are 5 Halal eateries nearby that you can check out if you happen to be at East Coast Park.
This article is correct at the time of writing. As Singapore is currently in Phase 2, do adhere to all the guidelines when dining in at the eateries.
For fans of Enak Enak HongKong Tea House at Bedok Shopping Complex (a.k.a Simpang Bedok), you’ll be glad to know that they have a second outlet at East Coast Park. A mere 8-min walk from the current East Coast Park Lagoon, Enak Enak is known for its handmade Dim Sum and Chinese Noodles. My personal favorites from their Dim Sum menu would be the Golden Sand Bun and the Deep Fried Shrimp Dumpling.
If you’re not in the mood for Chinese food, they also have an array of Western and Indian food for you to choose from, leaving you spoilt for choice. With its vast menu, Enak Enak is the perfect place for you to dine-in with your family and friends!

Roughly a 16-minute walk from the current East Coast Park Lagoon, Central Thai may be a little out of the way if you travel by foot. We would recommend you cycle over if you’re hungry, or enjoy the sea breeze as you make your way to the restaurant.
At Central Thai, you can expect to savor all the authentic flavors of Halal Thai cuisine ranging from fresh seafood to soups and salads. It’s also an ideal place for families with kids as they have a kid-friendly menu.
Other than that, patrons have reviewed the place to be pocket-friendly too. Isn't that the best thing to hear when it comes to savoring good food?

I usually start my journey to East Coast Park from Marine Parade Road. I enjoy walking through the housing estates, stopping by some shops to get snacks for my little adventure. Right before the highway, I go through one of the underpasses that leads me directly to Marine Cove at East Coast Park. (Little known fact: there are a total of 10 underpasses connecting you to East Coast Park from the other side of the highway!)
Marine Cove was previously known as the East Coast Recreational Center. It was home to Marine Bowl, an arcade, and the notable 24-hours McDonald's outlet, known for its skate-thru facilities. It underwent redevelopment in 2012 and reopened in 2016 as the Marine Cove we know today.
Whether you’re about to start the day or you’re just making a stop for quick refreshments, check out these 3 Halal eateries in Marine Cove.

Of course, they had to bring back the good old East Coast Park McDonald's to Marine Cove – and not forgetting the iconic skate-thru of the old outlet either!
There’s something else to look forward to in this outlet as it is not limited to just their usual burgers and fries. The dessert bar provides all kinds of refreshments and is the first in McDonald's outlet in Singapore to have a salad bar. You should also try their Signature menu as well as their exclusive McCafe menu.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is another store that needs no introduction. It’s a perfect spot to get your coffee or tea fix! If you’re looking for more than just beverages, their delicious sandwiches, pasta, pastries and cakes await you.
The outlet in Marine Cove is a family-friendly cafe; not only does it provide a kids menu, but also children playpen in the restaurant itself.
Did you know, the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf serves frozen yogurt too? Of course, this is only available in certain outlets and the outlet in Marine Cove is one of them. Swirl Frozen Yogurt operates as a dessert kiosk at the same premises as the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Enjoy the original flavor or the Matcha Green Tea frozen yogurt topped with your desired fruits, crunch, and sauce.

Another Halal eatery that you can find at Marine Cove is My Briyani House, a concept restaurant by Mr. Teh Tarik Group that serves authentic Indian and local cuisines. It’s a perfect restaurant for a meal with your family or friends at any time of day.
Not only the restaurant is spacious, it also has a kids’ corner for your little ones. As the name of the restaurant suggests, you will definitely find a wide selection of Briyani here; mutton, chicken, squid and even vegetarian. Other than Briyani, you can also opt for Roti John, Chapati, or Naan.
The food menu is not the only thing enticing here – the drink menu will be sure to quench your thirst after a long day by the beach.
