In August, Halaltrip collaborated with Blue Jasmine to give away sets of dining vouchers at Blue Jasmine's Anchan Buffet. They had a month-long food photography contest where two winners will be chosen.
You guessed it! Shortly after the contest ended, they announced that I was one of the winners. Recently, I got the chance to try the buffet with my prize vouchers and this was my experience!
Located on the 5th floor of Park Hotel Farrer Park, it’s a great place for every occasion. The restaurant is situated on the same floor as the swimming pool so you will definitely be greeted with an amazing, relaxing view.
Blue Jasmine offers their dinner buffet on Fridays and Saturdays, making it the perfect place to wind down with loved ones after a long week. It gets more relaxing when it gets breezy in the evening.
This buffet has both indoor and outdoor spreads. For the spread indoors, they had the highly acclaimed Blue Jasmine Rice which I thought was an interesting base as you pile on other buffet items.
When I visited the place on a Saturday, they had Fried Glass Noodles, Stir-Fried Vegetables, Beef Basil, Chicken Petai, Lamb Curry, and Steamed Seabass Slices. I enjoyed their Lamb Curry and Steamed Seabass a lot—very flavourful and fresh!
I thought they would offer some Tom Yum Soup and Pad Thai since they’re classic Thai dishes but they did not serve those.
For the spread outdoors, you are in for a treat as there is a Beef Noodle live station that I enjoyed a lot! Beef Noodles is something I truly look forward to when it comes to fulfilling my Thai food cravings and they did not disappoint.
If you are not a fan of beef, you can request for chicken meatballs instead with the broth and noodles.
They also offer a spread of hot appetizers like Sugarcane Prawn, Fried Chicken Tom Yum Pocket, Thai Fish Cake, and Chicken Wings. I went for multiple rounds for their tasty Chicken Wings and Tom yum Pocket!
However, do note that their Tom Yum Pocket do not have the Tom Yum spicy taste so kids will love it!
Time for dessert! Blue Jasmine offers some really tantalising desserts—think assorted Nyonya Kuehs, Sago Coconut, fresh seasonal fruits, Thai Chendol , and of course, Blue Jasmine Mango Sticky Rice that you can smother in Durian sauce. Yum!
The best part is they also have a coconut ice cream soft serve machine complete with toppings! Go crazy for all things sweet!
For beverages, unlimited lemongrass and iced water were provided. You may also dispense your favourite beverages from their coffee machines.
Thai food will not be complete without some Thai Milk Tea right? You’ll be glad to know that you can dispense as much hot Milk Tea as you want!
It is not very sweet so you don’t have to feel very guilty about indulging in your third cup of Thai Milk Tea. You may also request for some Thai Iced Milk Tea but I would recommend sticking to their hot milk tea instead.
Overall, this place is great for special occasions because of the great ambience and accessibility.
The spread of food during my visit was not particularly amazing because of the absence of some classic dishes. Still, the service from the attentive staffs and dessert selections made up for it.
Thank you HalalTrip and Blue Jasmine for this opportunity!
