Behold - Singapore’s First Nashville Hot Chicken Concept, better known as Chix Hot Chicken. If you're a fried chicken lover, you NEED to visit this restaurant!

The two people depicted in the picture above are the co-founders of Chix Hot Chicken. Do you see a familiar face? Yes, that's right - the man on the right is none other than Taufik Batisah, winner of the first season of Singapore Idol, and your childhood crush haha!

The man beside him is Ismail Bober. Bober is a multilingual speaker with a vast experience in the Food & Beverage industry. He previously co-owned Life Is Beautiful Kitchen & Bar.

He and Taufik met in a gym many years back and discovered that they both shared a fondness for fried chicken. Thanks to their shared passion, Chix Hot Chicken was born! How often do things like this happen right?

But that's not all!

The history of Nashville hot chicken dates all the way back to the 1930s. The girlfriend of the original founder, Thornton Prince III, was so fed up with his womanising that she decided to get revenge on him. So, she cooked him up a meal of buttermilk-fried chicken and added huge amounts of one of the world's hottest peppers: cayenne pepper.

As he ate it, she waited for him to have a negative reaction. But to her surprise, he ended up loving the chicken so much that he opened up the restaurant selling it. What a plot twist!

But now, you can try this chicken out for yourself. Their chicken is sold in various sizes - Quarter ($10.90), Half ($20.90), Wings ($10.90) and Tenders ($10.90), and all their chicken are served with bread and pickles.

You can also upgrade your meal to a combo and enjoy sides like Creamy Tangy Coleslaw ($2.90), Cheese Fries ($4.90) and Mac & Cheese ($5.90).

Not only that, they also offer four spicy levels for their chicken in this ascending order: Mild, Medium, Hot and Insane Hotness. My team and I got to try out the Medium Hotness level and it's honestly not too spicy. The chicken was really good too - it's not dry and is so full of flavour!

Here's their menu which sums up everything they have to offer.

But get this - their tactic to making their chicken more spicy is using two of the world's hottest chilli peppers, namely Ghost Peppers and the Carolina Reaper. The Carolina Reaper itself peaks at 2.2 Million Scoville heat units, which is approximately 200 times the spiciness of a Jalapeno pepper!

So if you can take the heat, we'd highly recommend that you challenge yourself by giving the Insane Hotness level a try. On the other hand, if you cannot handle spicy food, don't worry because you can request to have non-spicy chicken as well. Now, if you decided to risk it all by trying out their spiciest level and your mouth feels like it's burning, please don't cry.

They've got you covered with their Chix Milkshake ($7.90) that will help to cool down your tongue. This milkshake is vanilla-flavoured and is made extra thick so you feel full and satisfied after!
