رَبَّنَآ اَتْمِمْ لَنَا نُوْرَنَا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَاۚ اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ
Rabbanaaa atmim lanaa nooranaa waghfir lana innaka ‘alaa kulli shai’in qadeer
Our Lord! Perfect our light for us, and forgive us. 'For' You are truly Most Capable of everything.
This is one of the forty Rabbana duas that are mentioned in the Quran. This dua has its own place and purpose for reciting to Allah. This dua talks about the believers of Allah that would be proceeding towards Paradise on the day of resurrection. In this case, the one who is deserving of that spot is the one who is following his light and seek for his repentance while living to Allah. Allah is the Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem, therefore with a sincere prayer to Allah, InshAllah we would be relieved from evil deeds and admit us into Jannah.
Someone who failed to do so will be fulfilled and engulfed with darkness on the day of judgment. As they are the ones who failed to ask for his forgiveness during their lives for their shortcomings and past error, therefore held accountable for their action. Therefore, this surah tells us His believers to recite the dua when we're terrified for us to be on our way to paradise, to have the light and his blessings.
