Description
The Niujie Mosque in Beijing, the capital of China
Spreading over 6000 square meters and accommodating over a thousand followers, it has been built mixing typical Chinese and Islamic architecture. The Chinese style is however more dominant on the exterior and Islamic decorations in the interiors. The masjid is mainly constructed out of timber.
The area of the masjid includes the primary prayer hall, the minaret, two pavilions and a moon observatory tower. An arched gate inscribed with Surah's from the Quran leads to the prayer hall. The prayer hall is decorated with paintings of flowers, small glass beads and tinted glass.
There are a few restaurants serving Halal food near the Masjid
