Manado is served by the Sam Ratulangi International Airport. Taxis, buses, and rental cars are available from the airport! Although looking for halal cuisine could be a challenge in Manado, plenty of Muslim-friendly restaurants are still available in town. The most recommended iconic local restaurants serving local delicacies in Manado are Rumah Makan Dego-Dego, Rumah Makan Afisha, Rumah Makan Dabu-Dabu Lemong, Rumah Makan Raja Oci, Frangipani Klapertart, and Raja Sate.
Manado has over 100 mosques in the city’s region. Serving as the oldest mosque is the Masjid Agung Awwal Fathul Mubien that stood since 1770. This was where plenty of Muslim merchants gather from around the Sulawesi island in the colonial era. Other grand mosques available in town are Masjid Besar Miftahul Jannah, Masjid Ahmad Yani, and Masjid At-Taqwa.
