Description

Busan Metropolitan City has the second largest population in South Korea, the first being Seoul. Rough mountains, rivers, beaches, and hot springs run through the modern landscape of the urban city.


Busan is located in "The Southeast Economic Zone", which is South Koreas biggest industrial area. It is home to the largest port in South Korea, and currently stands at fifth place in the list of world busiest ports when considered by cargo capacity.


The city is diverse in culture and there are lots of things for Muslims to do in Busan. Just some of these attractions include parks, museums, art galleries, temples, including the largest beach and longest river in Korea. Busan also boasts one of the best food cultures in South Korea, seafood being one of their main specialties. It is also well known for its frequent festivals, exhibitions and events.

Nearby Airports

In operation since 1976, Gimhae International Airport is the only airport in Busan, and is situated towards the western region of the city. It hosts flights to and from many local and international airports from around the world. There aren’t any prayer rooms in Busan airport, but there are paid waiting rooms, where one can perform their prayers.

Muslim travelers need not worry too much about finding Halal food in Busan as there are plenty of Muslim-friendly facilities in Busan. There are many Halal restaurants in Busan serving all kinds of cuisines, but one of the most popular is the Cappadocia Turkish restaurant, situated near the only mosque in Busan, and famous for its delicious kebabs!

Mosques

Busan Al-Fatah mosque in Busan is said to be the only mosque in the area, and therefore, one of the few places where Muslims can find prayer facilities in Busan. A small community of Muslims thrives around the mosque, and it even houses a small kindergarten.
