Xi’an is the capital of the Shaanxi Province, is one of the oldest cities in China. It is a place one cannot miss when visiting China. It is a historic city that has many archeological sites, with plenty of fascinating museums and historic buildings and places to visit. Xi’an, the capital of the Shaanxi Province, is situated in the central-northwest region of the People’s Republic of China. It is a city of historic beauty, and it used to be called the Chang’an (the eternal city) during ancient times. The city is best known for the Terracotta Warriors, which is a collection of terracotta figurines that was buried with Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China, in memory of his armies.

The first city in China to be introduced to Islam was Xi’an, and since then a large community of Muslims has grown in the area. Situated in the city center is the Muslim Quarter, with an estimated 50,000 Muslims in Xi’an living in that area.

Other mosques in Xi’an include Daxuexi Lane Mosque, Xian Xiaopiyuan Mosque, and Xian Dapiyuan Mosque.
