Palawan is an island province of the Philippines that is located in the Mimaropa region. It is the largest province in the country in terms of total area of jurisdiction. Palawan Island has been rated as World’s Best Island in 2013 and  2015 and the National Geographic has rated it as the 13th best island in the world.  Spend a holiday at the world’s best island which is home to jungles, mountains and white beaches. The amazing landscape and high  bio-diversity have made Palawan a  tourist destination worth exploring. The northern region is distinguished by clear waters, white beaches, and numerous types of vegetation and fauna. The most visited places include El Nido and Taytay which are chatacterised by limestone cliffs and underwater life with many species of tropical fish, corals and endangered sea turtles. Jungle are home to over 100 different species of birds.

Other prominent destinations include the capital Puerto Princesa, El Nido on the north of the island and also Coron island where you can unwind to do great snorkelling and diving. Palawan’s underground river has been added to UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s one of the longest underground rivers in the world that runs more than 8 Km in subterranean caves. You can have an amazing experience through rock formations with a boat tour. Likewise San Vicente is another top destination on Palawan Island. The Island has two seasons - six months dry and six months wet, Summer months are considered peak season and from March to early June the seas are calm. The average max temperature is 31 degrees  with little variation all year.

There are  international as well as domestic airports at Cebu, Manila and Caticlan (Boracay) through four gateways: El Nido Airport, Puerto Princesa City Airport, and Cesar Lim Rodriguez Airport in Taytay and Francisco Reyes Airport in Busuanga.

A few include the Islam Mosque - a mosque located in Puerto Princesa City, Abad Santos Palawan Grand Mosque, Puerto Princesa City, Puerto Princesa and the Al-Farouq Institute which is also a well known mosque and Islamic centre in Palawan.
