Located in India, at the base of the Chamundi Hills, in the state of Karnataka is the major tourist city of Mysore. Also known as the 'City Of Palaces', Mysore is renowned for the number of buildings built by the Royal family. An attraction for those with kids is the Mysore Zoo. It is said to be one of the world’s oldest and most well-known zoos. Spread out across 245 acres, the Mysore Zoo is not only home to rare and exotic birds and animals; it also focuses on conservation education and breeding, and the rehabilitation of wild animals and birds. While here, visitors get the chance to observe tigers, bears, gorillas, hippos, rhinos, elephants and numerous other exotic species.
