Located in Australia, on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, is the vibrant coastal town at the heart of the Greater Port Macquarie area - Port Macquarie. The town is located at the mouth of River Hastings and on the coast, and is about a 4 hour drive from Sydney and half-way to Byron Bay. Home to a collection of pristine beaches, parks and gardens, historical and wildlife attractions, top fishing and surfing locations and more, Port Macquarie is a great destination for a family holiday. Muslim visitors should be aware that they will not be able to find many Muslim-friendly facilities in Port Macquarie. There are no known mosques in Port Macquarie, neither are there any Halal restaurants in Port Macquarie.

There are guided tours that visitors can take while at the Sea Acres Rainforest Centre.
Port Macquarie’s Koala Hospital is the first hospital in the world that is dedicated to the care and preservation of koalas. Visitors have the opportunity to observe the koalas being fed daily by volunteers. The Koala Hospital is a fabulous initiative that even allows visitors the chance to adopt a koala and to plant a koala food tree.
Those with kids will also enjoy a visit to the Billabong Koala Breeding Centre & Wildlife Park. The perfect place for an outing with the family, the Billabong Zoo boasts a plethora of exotic animals and birds, as well as Australian ones. Also found here is the world renowned koala breeding centre. While here, a visit to the Reptopia is also a must. Visitors will come across the most venomous land snake on the planet, here, as well as other reptiles.
Visitors looking to relax and unwind can do so on one of the many golden-sand beaches in Port Macquarie. They can also take a historic vehicle ferry across the Hastings River to the Limeburners Creek Nature Reserve where they can spend the day swimming, bushwalking and wildlife watching.
The closest airport to Port Macquarie is Port Macquarie Airport, which is a domestic airport located about 6 kilometres from the center of Port Macquarie. For international flights, visitors will have to use the services at the Sydney Airport, which is about 401 kilometres away.
There are no known Halal restaurants in Port Macquarie. There is however a Halal certified bakery in Port Macquarie, namely the Cheesecake Shop Macquarie Fields.
