It is home to the Nilaveli Beach which is said to be one of the best white sand beaches in Asia. It is also a popular destination among scuba divers and those looking for a little peace and quiet. The area has numerous attractions and offers spectacular, breathtaking views. Nilaveli is definitely a must-visit when in Sri Lanka. Muslim visitors must be aware that they will find it quite difficult to locate Muslim-friendly facilities in Nilaveli.
As the town is renowned for its beaches, while here, tourists must make it a point to visit Nilaveli Beach. With is soft white sand and breathtaking coastline, this attractions is definitely unforgettable. The beach is ideal for Muslim tourists as it is not as crowded as one would think; therefore providing the privacy Muslim visitors would need. Muslim tourists will also be able to find numerous vegetarian restaurants here. There are no known mosques in Nilaveli. Muslim tourists can however use the facilities offered at the mosques in Trincomalee, which is about 20 minutes away.
