Arusha is a fantastic destination in Tanzania and is frequented by many travellers and tourists throughout the year. It is considered to be the gateway to the Northern Safari Circuit and is home to a number of sights, including Mount Meru - one of the tallest mountains in the African continent. Being a popular tourist destination, travellers will be able to find plenty of accommodation and shopping options to choose from. Arusha is a prominent city in Tanzania, located towards the north of the country. It is also the capital city of region of Arusha - one of the 30 administrative regions of Tanzania. The history of Arusha dates back to 1900 when it was founded by German colonialists and at present, the city is considered to be an important international diplomatic hub.

Muslim travellers will be able to find quite a few Halal restaurants in Arusha. Khan's Barbecue at Mosque Street, Mcmoody's at Sokoine Road, Dragon Pearl at Old Moshi Road, Big Bite at Somali Road and Hot Bread Shop at Sokoine Road are amongst some of the most prominent Halal restaurants in Arusha where travellers will be offered a range of South Asian and continental cuisine.
There are a few mosques in Arusha that Muslim travellers can visit during prayer times. One such mosque is the mosque located at the Ansaar Muslim Youth Centre, close to the Kilombero Market in Arusha. The centre will also be able to provide more information about some of the other prayer facilities available in the city as well as more places where travellers can find Halal food.
