Lillehammer is a small yet pretty town located in the Oppland County in Norway. The town features some beautifully preserved wooden houses and is great to visit both during the summer and winter months. Lillehammer finds a wonderful location right at the shores of the Lake Mjøsa. Most of the town is located along the eastern bank of the lake. The town is also well-known for hosting the Winter Olympics in 1994. During the winter season, Lillehammer offers numerous opportunities of hiking and enjoying various winter sports. There are some wonderful museums and parks around the town that make good places to spend time at.

Lillehammer offers some good shopping opportunities. The Storgata is the main shopping street in the town. It is lined with several streets and modern shopping malls have sprung up in the area. The Strandtorget Shopping Centre and the Fabrikken are some good places to shop in the town.
The nearest airport to Lillehammer is the Gardermoen Airport in Oslo. There is a regular train service from Gardermoen to Lillehammer every hour. The journey takes about 1 hour and forty minutes and a one-way ticket costs around 227 Kr.
