In the 19th century the town was bought by Miskolc from the church and it then officially became a resort town. The town of Miskolctapolca is the perfect destination for those needing a nice relaxing and rejuvenating holiday. Muslim travelers will find it hard to locate Muslim-friendly facilities in Miskolctapolca.
The town of Miskolctapolca is renowned for its cave baths. The thermal water in these cave baths are said to be medicinal and is also said to have positive effects on several illnesses. The cave baths is considered to be one of the most beautiful baths in Hungary and it has both indoor and outdoor pools. The thermal water is very relaxing due to its temperature - although it takes some time for the body to get accustomed to its heat. Visitors can splash around as well as walk the extent of the cave bath or even just relax in the indoor pool as swimming is not possible here. The outdoor pool, however, is suitable for swimming. The area surrounding the cave baths is a park which offers its visitors plenty of opportunities to see the area by trekking and hiking. The park, houses an artificial lake where visitors could rent a boat and enjoy a lovely boat ride.
Another place of interest is the Bobpalya which is located next to the summer entrance of the bath caves, visitors will be able to find the bobsled track with its winding tracks which runs through the forest and has a level difference of 50m and a length of 800m. 33 bobs can roll down at any given time; making it a fun activity for both adults and children.
Those visiting the town could also visit Miskolctapolca Adventure Park for some family fun. It is an environmentally friendly park and is a popular tourist attraction. Only children over the height of 130 centimetres are allowed to participate in the attractions and activities present. The park offers a variety of adventure courses, of varying difficulties and is definitely a must-visit.
