Oia is a very picturesque town located on the Santorini Island in Greece. The town is located about 11km from Fira and offers some of the most amazing views of the sea and the surrounding scenery. The town features traditional architecture with blue-domed churches and spacious houses. The streets around the town are narrow and are lined with beautiful houses, coffee shops and souvenir shops. The best way to explore the area is by walking around.
The town features a number of wonderful attractions. The Maritime Museum has several exhibits detailing the maritime life of the people living around the area. There are also remains of a Venetian Fortress that can be easily seen. Oia has a number of art galleries that attract several artists from around the world. There is also a small port known as the Ammoudi, which can be accessed by the stairways. It is possible for visitors to take a boat to the island of Thirassia. The Armenis Beach also makes a good place to spend some time around.
Oia also offers some good shopping opportunities. There are several souvenir shops dotted around the town that offer various items including local handicrafts and other things.
