The little city of Makarska is located along the country's Adriatic coast and belongs to the Split-Dalmatia County. It is located around 60 kilometres away from the city of Split, towards the northwest of Dubrovnik - and is home to a population of over 13,000 residents.

It is famed for its beautiful beaches and is a popular destination amongst beach lovers. It is located between the Adriatic Sea and the Biokovo mountain range, offering fantastic views for outdoor enthusiasts. It features an esplanade fringed by shady palm-trees, creating a truly enchanting ambience. Due to its popularity as a tourist destination, travellers will also find a wealth of accommodation options and shopping opportunities throughout the area.
