These numerous attractions are not just popular amongst those visiting from foreign countries, but also among Brazilians. There are numerous beautiful forests, parks and other green areas within Campinas which contribute to the quality of life of the locals. Apart from natural attractions, the city also has several cultural ones as well as areas for sports and more. Campinas has a very small Muslim community and therefore, those traveling to the city will not find it easy to locate Halal food and prayer facilities. However, Muslim visitors can also travel to São Paulo city; which has more Muslim-friendly facilities, since it is not too far away from Campinas.
Campinas has a lot to offer tourists, in terms of entertainment and attractions. One extremely popular site in the city among tourists is Estacion Cultura or the Culture Station. This is a museum that was formerly a train station which is now transformed and restored. This old Central Railway Station is an iconic symbol of Campinas. For those looking to get some water action, a visit to Wet’n Wild is a must. This popular water park is located only 20 minutes from Campinas and is one of the biggest in Brazil. Wet’n Wild occupies 40 acres and is home to attractions that can be enjoyed by the entire family. Waterslides, a natural lake, and a wave pool are just a few of the numerous attractions that can be enjoyed.
A great way to see the whole city from up above would be to pay a visit to Torre do Castelo. This tower is said to be one of Campinas’s tallest buildings’ coming in at almost 2,500 feet tall. Visitors here will be treated to incredible panoramic views of Campinas and its surroundings.

The airport that serves Campinas is Viracopos–Campinas International Airport, which is located in the city of São Paulo; approximately 24 kilometres from the center of Campinas. It is one of the busiest airports in Brazil and is the largest cargo airport in the metropolitan area.
There are no known Halal restaurants in Campinas. Muslim visitors will have to dine on vegetarian or seafood dishes from local non-Halal restaurants after ensuring that the dishes do not consist of any non-Halal items. Because Campinas has a small Muslim population, Muslim tourists may be able to obtain more information on the availability of Halal food in the area, at the local mosque. Muslim visitors must also be aware that most restaurants in Campinas do serve alcohol. They also have the option of traveling to São Paulo city which has a couple of Halal restaurants.
There is one known mosque in Campinas, namely the Islamic Centre of Campinas/ Centro Islamico de Campinas. This mosque serves the small Muslim community of Campinas and is frequented by Muslim tourists. The Islamic Centre of Campinas also conducts Jumu’ah prayers on Fridays apart from the five daily prayers. Muslim visitors looking for other mosques can also travel to São Paulo city, which has a bigger Muslim community and therefore more prayer facilities.
