Sozopol is a beautiful coastal town located about 35km from Burgas. The town is one of the oldest settlements along the Black Sea Coast and is one of the main seaside resorts. The Old Town of Sozopol has been named as a museum reserve and consists of over 180 houses that were built between the 18th and the 19th centuries. Some of the best houses to see in the Old Town area are the Kreanoolu House, The Kurtidi House, The Todor Zagorov House and The Dimitri Laskaridis House.
The islands of Saint Ivan and Saint Peter are wonderful places to visit. There are two beaches in Sozopol, the Harmani beach and the central beach. Close to the town there are two other popular beaches, the Golden Fish Campground and Kavatsi Beach. The modern area of Sozopol is brimming with modern buildings and hotels. The town also has some beautiful gardens that are good to spend some time in.
The cobble stone streets of Sozopol are lined with several shops selling local souvenirs and handicrafts. The new town area of Sozopol also has some good modern shops and various branded shops too.
The nearest airport to Sozopol is the Burgas Airport. The airport is about 45km away from Sozopol. From the Burgas Airport visitors can take taxis or private buses to reach Sozopol.
There are no halal restaurants in Sozopol. Visitors can however find a few places serving vegetarian dishes.
