The little town of Diegem is located in the Machelen municipality of the Flemish Brabant province in the country. The Machelen municipality itself comprises the two towns of Diegem and Machelen proper and is home to a population of around 12,500 residents. The total area of the municipality stretches across an area of just over 10 square kilometres and is governed by the Mayor of Machelen - Jean-Pierre De Groe.
There is little to say about the small city of Diegem itself. It is perhaps best known for being home to a section of the Brussels Airport, which is the most prominent and busiest airport in the country. Travellers who fly in to Belgium at the Brussels Airport could make it a point to visit Diegem as well for a short visit.
The town of Diegem is located about 10 kilometres away from Brussels and Muslim travellers will never be too far away from Halal facilities as well as some of the prominent attractions in the country. A notable landmark within Diegem town is its gothic church which is positioned at the centre of the town and dates way back to 1543.
