Jasper is a mountain town located in the Rocky Mountains. The town is a part of the Jasper national park and serves as an excellent destination to visit. There are numerous hiking trails around the area and visitors can also enjoy snowmobile tours of the area. Surrounded by mountains and exotic scenery, Jasper also offers fishing, skiing, horse-riding and several other activities.
There are a few museums in the town that give visitors details about the area. The Den Wildlife Museum and the Jasper Yellowhead Museum are a few places where visitors can check out the local flora and fauna and the history of the area. A ride on the Jasper Tramway is highly recommended. It is the highest tramway in Canada and visitors can get exclusive views of the surroundings from the ride. The Icefield Center is one of the most exciting natural attractions in the area.
Jasper also offers some good shopping. Most of the shops are located around the downtown area. Visitors can find several ski rental shops in the area. The main streets for shopping are Connaught Drive and Patricia Street. The Marketplace on Patricia Street is one of the main shopping centers in the town.
