The city of Richmond is a part of the Vancouver metro area and also the site of the Vancouver International Airport. The city spans across four islands with its main hub being the Lulu Island. In the southwest corner of Richmond lies the historic fishing village of Steveston. There is a park located in the village from where visitors can get exclusive view of the ocean. The Richmond's Library Cultural Centre is a wonderful center with an art gallery and a museum depicting the history and culture of the area.
Richmond is home to numerous parks like Minoru Park, Garry Point Park, Richmond Nature Park, etc. There are also several picturesque hiking and cycling trails that visitors can embark upon during their visit. There are several heritage sites in Richmond that fall along the trails. The Gulf of Georgia Cannery features exhibits and displays depicting the old times of the cannery.
Richmond also offers a good shopping experience. There are several malls across the city where visitors can enjoy shopping. Some of these malls include the Richmond Centre Mall,Lansdowne Mall,Aberdeen Centre,Union Square,Parker Place Shopping Centre, etc. The Steveston Village too has become an excellent shopping destination. There are several small shops along the main street in the village selling local handicrafts and souvenirs.
Richmond is served by the Vancouver International Airport. From the airport visitors can take buses, taxis and private shuttles to reach their destination in the city.
